We ordered two FLINrail panels at the BOOT Düsseldorf boat show in 2023. Delivery to the port of Cherbourg was free of charge in April 2023. We were so impressed by the high-quality workmanship, the simple mounting system, and the efficiency of the panels that we purchased two more in 2024. Delivery to Sardinia was again quick and reliable.
The panels deliver approximately 85 watts each in hazy weather (high humidity) and with optimal orientation and no shading. In clear conditions, they can even reach 95 watts. This is a good result considering the 110 Wp nominal output and the rotating and rocking boat.
Attaching the panels to the railing is simple, and they can be flexibly positioned. Even while sailing, the panels remain stable in winds of approximately 12-18 knots. In stronger winds, we place the panels on the upper clamp and secure them to the railing. If excessively strong winds are forecast, they can be stored in the designated bag below deck.
In 2025, we experienced a drop in performance with one of our first-generation panels. Flin offered to replace both older panels with two of the latest generation free of charge. We provided a port in southern Italy for delivery, and the new panels arrived well-packaged and secure. A return shipping label was already included, and we sent the old panels back free of charge. The entire warranty process was simple, incredibly friendly, and customer-oriented – simply exemplary!
